Not many people find Oakland to be an interesting place to go to, but they are just uninformed. There are at least 3 places worth seeing in Oakland, and at least 3 activities to be tried out while in town. You surely haven’t thought about them, therefore, read on to learn more.

African American Museum and Library at Oakland
When visiting a city many tourists stop by at least one museum. The museum organizes an African American walking tour of downtown Oakland, but if you’re interested you must call to find out the details.

Joaquin Miller Park
If you really want to take a walk, or just be in nature for some time, this park is an ideal stop. The old estate of California poet Joaquin Miller, The Hights, is located here.

USS Potomac
History lovers have nothing to lose by coming to Oakland, as USS Potomac offers historic tours on the bay. You would know that Potomac served as the meeting place between Roosevelt and Churchill.

Shopping
Nobody will believe you don’t like to shop, therefore you can stop by The Hat Guys, Feelmore Adult Gallery, or the Grand Lake Farmer's Market, all offer some unique shopping experiences. These are not the only stores in town, but the ones that stand out.

Go to the theater
Oakland is home to several theaters, but not all of them are still used for their original purpose. Fox Theater is now a music venue with up to 2,800 seats. Paramount Theater is kept in mint condition and everything is worth looking at. There are many types of shows hosted here.
